CHARLOTTE, NC – Northwood Office is pleased to announce that Credit Karma has opened a 95,000-square-foot headquarters at the Overlook building in Ballantyne. The new fintech hub will bring 600 jobs to the area by 2026.

"The intersection of technical talent and having so many financial companies concentrated in one market makes Charlotte's talent pool unrivaled for the roles Credit Karma is recruiting for as we accelerate on building products to deliver on our mission of championing financial progress for all," said Credit Karma founder and CEO Kenneth Lin.

"We're pleased with the continued momentum of activity and thank our customers and their brokers for selecting Ballantyne as their workplace of choice," said John Barton, president of Northwood Office.

"If you're going to ask people to come back into the office after working from home for such a long period of time, you need to make it to be a place that people are comfortable, that has all of my life needs and, most importantly, that you have space to collaborate.” said Colleen McCreary, Credit Karma's chief people, places and publicity officer. “The whole point of having a physical location is to bring people together."

The firm's Charlotte office houses operations for Credit Karma Money, product and engineering teams, talent, marketing and member support.

Each floor of Credit Karma’s space is designed based on a season, a nod to North Carolina's four seasons. Other office features include an in-house coffee bar, on-site music room, game area, prayer and meditation rooms, wellness rooms, library and local artwork. The 11-story Overlook building also includes a top-level amenity floor with a rooftop terrace, firepit and 14,500 square feet of versatile space, complete with a 50-seat conference room. Other building amenities include a 2,500-square-foot fitness facility with locker rooms and state-of-the-art equipment, free structured parking and an adjacent 16-story luxury residential tower.

Overlook is targeted for LEED® Silver certification and is Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR. New environment enhancements include automatic hands-free operators on exterior and restroom doors, MERV-13 air filters, destination dispatch elevator technology and more health-focused features. The completion of Overlook is Northwood's first development in Ballantyne and represents the first step of continued growth with Ballantyne Reimagined.
