Wildlife Conservation

The Ballantyne and Armour Yards properties are home to apiaries. The collective 14 hives house more than 800,000 honeybees. The hives create engaging educational opportunities and positively impact the surrounding areas.

Northwood's Ballantyne property hosts a Bluebird nesting program in partnership with local Davidson University to house 75 bird boxes on its 240 acres of green space. The student programs regularly monitor the boxes and report back their findings.
